Ashley Gale Looking at the picture, I notice the purlins are top hats. How would this work with Z's? As that's our preferred method.
Ashley Gale
Luke Merriman: Z's would use a thinner bracket with a longer "lip" for the screw off points.

If it's cheaper?
Ashley Gale
Tammy Maurer: definitely, absolutely not cheaper from a kit price. Not sure what the install costs difference would be. Anyone else want to comment?

Ashley Gale: Can we have it as an option instead then? That might work to see what works for each different shed...
Ashley Gale
Tammy Maurer: I'm thinking a franchise setting for the default setting and an option to change it like you do for reduced knees. Thoughts?
T
Tammy Maurer
Ashley Gale: Yes- Terry and I agree it's a good move

Or at least provide a documented alternative if required
Ashley Gale
Kevin Lynch: Can you please explain the third alternative?
K
Kevin Lynch
Ashley Gale: I have seen other companies use a right angle bracket to both sides of the rafter column as an alternative to the fly brace
Ashley Gale
Kevin Lynch: I doubt that would work from an engineering view, I'll run it past John for his thoughts.
