Roller door motors

Any reason why we NOW cant delete motors from BOM prior to ordering (up until a few weeks back we could)? If customer changes their mind, this was a simple fix. I have just been told we need to roll the job back. Seems like another stupid Steelx decision to make things harder for us. Also instead of supplying the rubbish motors from centurion why can't we supply merlin silent drive for the smaller doors (we already supply the Grifco for the larger doors). If we are about quality - these are the little things that make a big difference.

I’ve got a customer with 7 wind locked doors. He has come in complaining every week for three months the won’t lift etc. I thought, how is it possible he has 7 faulty motors. Now I know. Centurion. I’ve purchased a Merlin to swap out and see how it goes. If that works. He wants all seven swapped. Wonder if I will have any luck getting my money back From centurion.

Jason Finlay: We had a similar issue about 6 months ago with Steel-line motors. We had 5 jobs in a row of faulty motors, STEELX instructed us to continue installing them after being notified of the 1st two. We have only just replaced all the motors as the replacement motors were also faulty. We had to pay for all new Merlin motors and the labour of reinstalling the motors, keeping in mind they had to do this twice on some jobs due to another batch of faulty motors. Didn't even bother letting STEELX know that the replacement motors were faulty as it falls on deaf ears. We asked for a Steel-line rep to come inspect the doors themselves but it seems everyone else time is more important than ours.... We are now using Taurean doors, we will see how that goes.

We swapped two motors out for Merlin’s. The doors now run perfectly. Which is kinda unfortunate as I now have to fork out about 4k in motors plus labour to replace all the faulty centurion motors.

We here at Hunter WSS seem to get a call once a month re a faulty door motor, & of course the next thing is who is meant to pay for a tradie to replace the motor.

While we are still forced to use Centurion we will have grief. Am i right the Franchise's can chose their own ?

I haven't sold a Centurion Motor for ever. I understood Steelx was looking at supplying their own motors, is that still in the pipeline?
