Balcony Mezzanine Purlin Spacing
planned

Can there be something written into SMS to be able to change External Balcony Mezzanines to 450mm spacings?
As Red Tongue wouldn't generally be able to be used in an External setting, decking requires a 450mm spacing so we would need to bring the purlins in and there doesn't seem to be anything for us to be able to change that.

It would be good if we had the option to have 450 joists on all mezzanines. Will regarding your coment about class 1A's does that include internal mezzanines on class 1A as well as external ones?

Hi Phillip,
For class 10a's? This is already standard for class1'a now.

I think it would only be needed on the Garaport Mezzanines, we always try and bring the spacing in on them for the decking to be done, I think there is only a couple of types of external flooring that can be used with a 600mm spacing, where most of the timber or timber look products are all 450mm spacing.
It may require a rewrite of the Mezzanine floor, I am not sure if you would want it to have 600's on the inside and 450's on the garaport. I know there is probably a bit more involved than just asking for it to be done.

Phillip Fagg Luckily enough, we have already been planning some major upgrades to mezzanines including being able to select joist spacings. It will be a while off but this is a planned upgrade
